Arrival of the Mountain Lions
Day 70 of the 5th Age
Two mountain lion cubs have now taken residence within the workshop after being discovered abandoned near the edge of the Outer Vale.
They possess strong appetites, very poor discipline, and an alarming talent for shredding unsecured textiles.
Several rugs have already been replaced.
The smaller of the pair has also developed a habit of sleeping beneath my worktable during pouring hours, which would perhaps be endearing were it not for the repeated chewing of my leather gloves and apron strings.
I suggested they might assist me in interviews for the Guild’s next apprentice opening. One learns a great deal about a candidate when presented with mild danger!
My request was denied immediately, and without proper consideration.
