Clues in the Wax and Ink

Day 63 of the 5th Age

The workshop has been in complete disarray ever since the unfortunate Babylon candle experiment misplaced by the apprentice.  I am still finding traces of black wax, and no trace of my apprentice.

In the midst of this chaos, Vaelan delivered the so-called Ashen Elders letter for analysis after concerns were raised regarding its authenticity.

The first warning sign was immediate: a cheap wax seal. No true vampire House would stamp its sigil into wax of such embarrassing quality.

Then, the letter.  The ink proved even more curious revealing imprints that ALL ten signatures were written by the same hand.  A gathering of Elders… or merely a single fool pretending to be many?

Vaelan has since shared my findings with the Thieves’ Guild, who have been tasked with identifying the perpetrators behind the false correspondence.

Lady Isadora has already prepared her Tower for “questioning” those responsible.

She sounded… famished.
